SOCIAL
ACTIVITIESFriday night socials are being held with attendance varying. Most of the time the group has been on the deck, however, the last three Friday's of August saw the group gathered in the Clubhouse. The August luncheon at Guanabanas was well attended. Fourteen gals ventured down to Jupiter and ate in the most delightful outdoor setting imaginable. Not only that, the food was delicious, too. The September 9th luncheon destination won't be as exotic as last month's, however, it is a restaurant relatively new to the area. The women will be heading to Manatee Island in Port Salerno. This was the former Bare Bones establishment. Please call Lee Weeks if you plan to attend. See you there!
The first meeting of the fall season will be held on Friday, September 17th at 1:00 PM in the Clubhouse. Thereafter, they will be meeting on the first and third Fridays of each month from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. New members are always welcome. Please plan to join the group if you enjoy needlework and crafts. If you are working on a project, bring it with you. All quilters keep October open for our quilting lessons. There will be more information available shortly
There is a new procedure for listing items for sale and for renting or selling your condo. Please use the form found in the rack in the Clubhouse Lobby or E-mail the office with your information. If your item is sold, please inform the office so it can be removed from the list. A new list is made available each month.
Joyce Hobson will no longer be handling the items and condos for sale & rent lists. Please see channel 43 for the new procedure to be followed if you have something to sell. A big thank you to Joyce for diligently taking care of this for the past several years.
August was a busy month for the Welcoming Committee. Four units were sold and the following new residents have been added to the community. William A. Flint III - 5-302 Theodore & Margaret Lidz - 11-306 Billie Shelley - 1-105 (not new to the community) Alan Swiman - 5-103 Please make these new folks feel welcome.

Thanks to Building 13 for keeping our community "secure" during August. Building 14 will have "the duty" for September. If you can be of help, please contact Lee Weeks, the building rep or Kevin Norton. Any help you can give is appreciated. |

A resident of Stuart since 1980, George Kinzey died on August 11th. Besides having been Dock Master and Commodore of the Circle Bay Yacht Club, he was known by many for his taking part in many other community activities. As a member of the men's breakfast group, he often had a joke or story to tell. The residents of CBYC extend their sympathy to his wife, Jeri and their children. |

PARENT - JOB DESCRIPTION Position: Ma, Mamma, Mom, Mommy Dad, Dada, Daddy, Pa, Pop JOB DESCRIPTION: Long term team players needed, for challenging, permanent work in an often chaotic environment. Candidates must possess excellent communication and organizational skills and be willing to work variable hours, which will include evenings and weekends and frequent 24-hour shifts on call. Some overnight travel required, including trips to primitive camping sites on rainy weekends and endless sport tournaments in far away cities! RESPONSIBILITIES: The rest of your life. Must be willing to be hated, at least temporarily, until someone needs $5.00. Must be willing to bite tongue repeatedly. Also, must possess the physical stamina of a pack mule and be able to go from 0 to 60 mph in three seconds flat, in case, this time, the screams from the backyard are not someone just crying wolf. Must be willing to face stimulating technical challenges, such as small gadget repair, mysteriously sluggish toilets and stuck zippers. Must screen phone calls, maintain calendars and coordinate production of multiple homework projects. Must have ability to plan and organize social gatherings for clients of all ages and mental outlooks. Must be willing to be indispensable one minute, an embarrassment the next. Must handle assembly and product safety testing of a half million cheap plastic toys and battery operated devices. Must always hope for the best but be prepared for the worst. Must assume final, complete accountability for the quality of the end product. Responsibilities also include floor maintenance and janitorial work throughout the facility. ADVANCEMENT & PROMOTION POSSIBILITIES: None. Your job is to remain in the same position for years, without complaining, constantly retraining and updating your skills so that those in your charge can ultimately surpass you. PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE: None required, unfortunately. On the job training offered on a continually exhausting basis. WAGES & COMPENSATION: Get this! You pay them! Offering frequent raises and bonuses. A balloon payment is due when they turn 18 because of the assumption that college will help them become financially independent. When you die, you give them whatever is left. The oddest thing about this reverse-salary scheme is that you actually enjoy it and wish you could only do more. BENEFITS: While no health or dental insuranace, no pension, no tuition reimbursement, no paid holidays and no stock options are offered; this job supplies limitless opportunities for personal growth, unconditional love and free hugs and kisses for life if you play your cards right. GOLDEN PARACHUTE: Grandkids! Footnote - There is no retirement - ever!
6th - Labor Day 8th - Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown 11th - Patriot Day 12th - Grandparents' Day 17th - Yom Kippur begins at sundown 23rd - First Day of Autumn EXCERPTS FROM "HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED?" by Joe Moore The world is full of people; some willing to work ... the rest willing to let them. Robert Frost Nothing is harder work than trying to find ways to avoid it. Work and play are words used to describe the same thing under differing conditions. Mark Twain We all work for the government, either on the payroll or on the tax roll. It is better to wear out than rust out. Richard Cumberland It doesn't matter whose payroll you're on. You're working for yourself. Most people like hard work, particularly when they're paying for it. Franklin Jones Laziness may appear attractive, but work gives satisfaction. Anne Frank
